Oaxaca - Art and Color

Spanish Immersion Program for Students with A2 proficiency or higher

Dates:           November 14 - 22, 2026

Price:          $1,950.00 double occupancy

Duration:     9 days

Max           7 students

The tour includes: ​

  • 15 hours of group Spanish lessons

  • Accommodation at a family owned hotel.

  • Breakfast during the trip

  • Transportation

  • Ticket admissions

Day 1.    Saturday.  Arrive in Oaxaca City.  Drop your bags and sip a mezcalito.

Day 2.    Sunday.  Walking tour visiting the historic dristrict: Santo Domingo Church, Oaxaca’s Ethnobotanical Garden, and Benito  Juárez & 20 de Noviembre Markets.

Day 3.    Monday.  

a) Alebrije's town of San Martin Tilcajete where we'll learn how to make an alebrije. Lunch in town.

b) San Bartolo Coyotepec, renowned for its world-famous black pottery, a tradition dating back over 2,500 years, and is a must-visit for artisan enthusiasts. 

Day 4.    Tuesday.    Monte Albán. Monte Albán is an ancient archaeological site, the capital of the Zapotec civilization that flourished between 500 BCE and 800 CE, making it one of the earliest and most significant urban centers in Mesoamerica. 

Day 5.    Wednesday.  

a) HIerve El Agua, known for its petrified waterfalls and mineral-rich pools. The formations resemble cascading water but are actually created by mineral deposits over thousands of years. 

b) Teotitlán del Valle, a historic Zapotec village, famous for its traditional handwoven textiles. Local artisans use natural dyes and centuries-old techniques to create intricate rugs and tapestries, often featuring geometric and indigenous designs.

c) Mezcal tasting. a traditional Mexican distilled alcoholic beverage made from the agave plant. Unlike tequila, which is made specifically from blue agave, mezcal can be produced from various types of agave, giving it a wide range of flavors. 

Day 6.    Thursday.  Museum of Cultures of Oaxaca and pedestrian tourist walkway (Andador turístico).

Day 7.    Friday. Free day. 

Day 8.    Saturday. Xochimilco and Jalatlaco neighborhoods.

Day 9.    Sunday.  ¡Adiós Oaxaca!

Booking and Reservation

1.1. To make a reservation, students must provide accurate personal information and adhere to the payment terms specified by Saber, Spanish language Cultural Center.

1.2. A deposit of $100 USD is required to secure the booking and 50% will be paid 4 weeks later. Your payment must be completed 30 days prior to the travel services start.

​

1.3. Cancellations are subject to the terms outlined in Section 3.

2.1. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to rosalilia.gutierrez@gmail.com

2.2. Cancellations made 30 days before the trip are eligible for a refund. The amount of the refund will depend on third parties services and a penalty of $100 USD for management fees.

2.3 No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the trip start date.

​Travel Insurance:

3.3. We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover unexpected events, including trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and loss of belongings.

Passports and Visas:

3.4. It is the traveler's responsibility to ensure passports and visas are valid for the duration of the trip.

Health and Safety:

3.6. Travelers should check and comply with health and vaccination requirements for the destination, in case they are required.

3.7. Saber, Spanish language Cultural Center is not responsible for any health issues or injuries that may occur during the trip.​


Tour Itineraries:

3.10. Saber, Spanish Language Cultural Center reserves the right to modify itineraries due to unforeseen circumstances. Any changes will be communicated to travelers.
